Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan was United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees from 1966 to 1977. During his service, he strengthened relationship between UNHCR and African governments and helped to improve inter-agency cooperation within the United Nations, addressing problems of mass displacement in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia.

This book, written by a former colleague and friend, Diana Miserez, honors his legacy in the service of the United Nations and beyond. She looks at his involvement with the UNESCO, UNHCR, and describe the efforts he made to raise awareness of the dangers of nuclear proliferation and environmental damage while undertaking missions in Lebanon, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan. Diana hopes to inspire younger generations, those that the prince looked toward when he fought for the future of the planet.
