PANEL: The Time is Now: Building a Coalition for Middle East Prosperity For generations, the vision of a vibrant and prosperous Middle East, specifically the West Bank and Gaza, has been blurred by the absence of continuous, sustainable peace. The private sector, including local formal, informal, regional and multinational players, can play an integral role in restoring and ushering a new era of prosperity. By generating jobs, income opportunities and filling gaps in delivering basic services, the private sector can help build momentum behind a fragile economy and instill hope in the people of the region. Indeed, when a steadfast peace plan is eventually put in place, the private sector will be the important catalyst that kickstarts the transformation of the West Bank and Gaza and opens a new chapter of economic prosperity in the region. Global leaders will discuss the role of the private sector in securing the region’s economic outlook. MODERATED BY: • Nik Gowing, Professor, Author & Broadcaster, United Kingdom SPEAKERS: • Mohamed Alabbar, Founder & Chairman, Emaar Properties PJSC, United Arab Emirates • Stephen Schwarzman, Chairman, CEO & Co-Founder, Blackstone, United States 20:00 – 21:30 Opening Dinner We are pleased to invite all officials, speakers, and delegates to attend an Opening Dinner at the venue. This renaissance, however, will demand not only significant financial commitments but also a favorable, pro-growth policy framework to incentivize investment. Global business leaders will discuss which strategic sectors can drive the region’s growth and unleash its economic potential. From promoting investment in sports and film production infrastructure to providing employment opportunities for the region’s workforce, sport and entertainment can emerge as two potential catalysts for economic development in the West Bank, Gaza, and the region. A thriving sports and entertainment industry would not only create high-quality job opportunities for the region’s population but would also have far-reaching, tangential benefits, including promoting creativity and healthy lifestyles. In this session, experts will discuss how sport and entertainment can energize the journey towards economic prosperity. MODERATED BY: • Thomas J. A healthcare expert will reflect on ways the region can best enhance its healthcare system and what lessons can be learnt from other sophisticated yet efficient systems around the world. MODERATED BY: • Hadley Gamble, Reporter & Anchor, CNBC, United Arab Emirates SPEAKER: • Dr. Tomislav Mihaljevic, MD, CEO & President, Cleveland Clinic, United States 12:20 – 12:50 Panel: Strengthening the workforce through women’s empowerment Building a brighter future in the region will require the contribution of everyone in the region. Although current unemployment rates are very high across the board, they are disproportionately skewed against women and youth. A prosperous region will need to incorporate its women into the workforce, allowing them to receive the financing, market opportunities, and workforce training required to succeed as entrepreneurs and businesspeople. This shift will require a comprehensive strategy that integrates marginalized populations. In this session, experts will reflect on why inclusion is critical in strengthening the region’s workforce. A thriving local business environment will be the source of high-quality jobs, enabling the local people to earn livelihoods and spur growth via domestic expenditure. In order to achieve this thriving business environment, we will need significant reforms and policies that eradicate barriers to growth and encourage venture capital and private equity funding. With the right support system, the local business environment help usher in a new era of economic prosperity. MODERATED BY: • Nik Gowing, Professor, Author & Broadcaster, United Kingdom SPEAKER: • Ashraf Jabari, Chairman, Palestinian Business Network 15:00 – 15:15 Next Steps: The Path Towards Achieving Prosperity In order to chart a path towards sustainable economic prosperity for the West Bank, Gaza and the region, stakeholders will have to engage the valuable experience of global leaders with an astute grasp of the region’s realities. Document hautement subversif !

We need the truth about following facts...

Seven sisters of Saint Mother Teresa, invited to Yemen to work for peace, and many other people who volunteered with them, were recently murdered by two commandos in two different places and on two different dates. The only survivor is still working in Yemen.
